What We Do

Our programs at SCRS go a long way to strengthen capacity, create self-sufficiency, develop and preserve culture as well as contribute to the society. 

Strengthen Capacity

•Assist new arrivals with documentation paperwork and navigating the American system.
• Help new arrivals access healthcare
• Translation/Interpretation of documents
• School registrations
• Information/referrals to public health
• We partner with Minnesota Care Counseling who provides linguistically-appropriate trauma counseling
• Assist with legal issues and documentation.
• Healthy Living classes

Create Self-Sufficiency

•ESL classes are taught through our partnership with Faribault Adult Basic Education.
• Skill-building for youth
• Housing
• Transportation
• Energy Assistance
• Partner with Area Learning Centers for skills training
• Social Security applications

Contribute to the Economy

• Job search assistance
• Career counseling for youth
• Job Placement
• Administer employment and training program for seniors
• Work with area employers on translation, recruitment, issue resolution
